How do you fish them there things? What depths? Thanks. CF

but, if'n I did ...... I'd fish them from surface to bottom, bank to boat, vertically or horizontally Or, in other words, the same way I do with most all my other plastics/hair bodied jigs :D
They're just another body shape, similar but different from grubs & curly tails. A little more action than a grub, a little less than a curly tail. They might be a little more effective in dingy to murky water, since the "paddle tail" will displace more water ... when moved (jigged). That water displacement sends vibration signals to the fish, which can pick them up with their lateral line, and indicates to the fish that a "live presence" is in the area.

I've been using them this winter tightlinging with tandem jigs. I use them just like I was using a tube or grub or minnow style baits. Right now it is one of my high confidence baits.

Last Tuesday at Hillsdale Lake, KS I was catching them 30 ft deep with a 3/8th oz and 1/4 oz jig. That day the color was a white body w/ chartruse tail 1.5 inch. Was using a pan asssain on the top jig.

When crappie come up shallow I will be using the beavertails like I use a slider casting towards the shore. Not sure they will be as weedless as the sliders. Will be using a much smaller jig than the 3/8ths oz I was using tightlinging.

Just bought my first 2 packages of beavertails. May try them tomorrow jigging some 8 foot deep brushpiles. Hope to pick up some big females hanging out in this deeper water. Also bought some Southern Pro 3/16 oz. jig heads.

Lake Nimrod has just came back down to normal pool after flooding. My Dad and Uncle are coming up for our annual fishing trip. We did real well last year jigging the 8 foot brushpiles catching several nice fish including a couple of 2 lbers.

Different year,different story. We plan on starting out the same places but I won't be afraid to try something else if this doesn't work.

Wife and I are planning on driving down to Crappie Camp tomorrow afternoon to meet a few folks and enjoy the potluck!
