    Default Night Fishing the Spawn

Just wondering how effective night fishing would be when the fish are mainly shallow (2-5 ft). I plan on setting up in 15 or so ft of water close to shallow water that i know has been holding fish. Will the fish move deeper to feed or am i wasting my time. Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I plan on sitting up in 8ft of water tonight and try it out. Will let you know how it works out.
That is if I get to go and catch fish.

Anchor or tie your boat right on top of them if you can. This way you can bobber fish/tightline many poles at once. Choose a steep creekbank if you can with a few stickups (timber) close by. Your can use an aluminum shroud clamp light with a rough service bulb (50-60 watts), OR, use a couple of blacklights and a clip on LED flashlight on the brim of your cap for light as your need it. The black lights don't scare the fish as bad as a brighter white light will in the shallows. Blacklights do not draw the amps a white light does and will help your battery to last. The black lights also make most bobbers show up several feet (30') from the boat. No need for glow in the dark bobbers. If you are doodlesocking the timber and stick ups, I would suggest the clamp light set so you can see submerged stumps and brush. Hit everyone of them you come across in 4' of water or less. Most of your nightime bites off bobbers are going to be 2-4' deep during spawn.

    Good Luck!

I did not get to go.
Had everything loaded and ready and had something to come up.
    Hope to try it someday.

    Thumbs up Night Fishing

Last Saturday night my son and I caught 22 keeper crappie, 6 or 7
throwbacks, 3 netters, and 15 filetable bluegill. First time I ever caught
bluegill at night, but I used wax worms and they killed them.
