Default Smithville Lake 7/10/11-- Good fishin'

Thanks for all the help and pointers on my first post. I decided to stick with Smithville today and my buddy and I caught approximately 25-30 crappie each. Majority of them were approximately 8.5 in. But a fish is a fish! Managed to get a little lucky and catch a nice 2lb white bass as well (Tons of fun on the Ultra Light!!)

I was fishing under the bridge on the pier farthest from the marina. Casting towards the rocks and slowly reeling in about the 4-5ft range. White/grey sparkle body with red tip on a 1/16th Jig head was the key there. I imagine we could have done a lot better if my buddy wouldnt have slept in till 10:30.... Doh

Probably would've been knee deep in em if we were there at 6am like I had planned.

    Anyways, I hope this helped!

    Have a good one fellahs

That's what I call a great first post. Congrats on the catch and trip and thanks for a very good detailed report.

You might consider buying your buddy an alarm clock for Christmas!
