Great report Beagle. Glad you had fun man! Thumbs Up
report. wind was a bummer again, started out in the coves south of birch branch, with minnows and jigs, did not catch a thing for two hours, so quit the minnows and got out the trolling rods,
brown/black
black/pink
pink all were the go to colors. fished 35 ft water 75 to 85 ft of line out. 1.7 mph. wind at your back was the best bite,
fished from the mouth of birch branch south then turn west and fish the big ole mud flat. go to the second cove and make wide turn and go back east, then back north, to birch branch and do it all over again,
no walley keepers, but 4 shorts.
no white bass.
10 short crappie, never caught so many short crappie trolling but I did today
kept 10 keepers over 11in.
crappie for supper and all is the same as always.

no arkie, I did not, well except to make a wide turn. I have tried drifting and trolling birch branch, but it never produces verry well, I think I am going to get out some heavy sinkers and hit the deep water and try pushing some cranks, never did it, so I see a cluster comming on.
good on ya man, that is one beautiful lake and it has been one windy year
I really like stockton Kaz, fished it for years, I know the south end pretty well, but have been going up north a little bit farther each week, gonna make it to the quarry area this year, search for some big ole black crappie and walley.
Was more familiar with the north half Beagle during the cooler months of the year at least. Did me some serious winter fishing on that lake over the years. Didn't fish the spring much and wasn't very good at it although did night fish it from April thru June and had a great time, the body got decayed to the point that night fishing isn't as much fun as it once was. Get back there twice or so a year now to fish with an ole buddy mainly during the summer, don't do it often enough.
Good job Beagle. Good to hear the cranking bite is starting over there.
