Question Strike King Crankbaits For Trolling

Has anyone used Strike King crankbaits for trolling for crappie? I was at a local store today where they had #3 Strike King crankbaits on sale for $1 each. I bought several and now wish I had bought some more. I know all crankbaits are not equal, some are much better than others, but at that price, they were worth testing. The same store had Bandits for $5. I know you often get what you pay for but did I make a bad deal? Are Strike Kings that bad?

i have used several strike king crankbaits and done well with them. I especially like the lipless..Diamond shad. Catch a lot of fish, usually targeting bass, but if the crappie are biting they will hit it too.

here is a nice crappie i caught last week using a diamond shad. Sometimes they want a little bigger presentation, and this day was one of those days. For refereance the rod and reel is 7' medium action pole, witha BPS pro qualifier reel., More of a bass set up, but I like to use it for crankbaits on any species.

I know a guide on KY Lake that uses them. I watched him troll Strike King crankbaits as he guided a couple people from Nashville. I just rode with them awhile and he caught alot of crappie on them. He was targeting crappie and this is the crankbait he used.

I think any of these crankbaits are good from Strike King, Bandit, Norman, and i know i am leaving many names out as probably Bomber would be good. I bought a few Strike Kings after watching him but i haven't had a chance to use them yet. He would troll four poles at once, two out the sides and two out the back.
