I thought you all might be interested in seeing a few fish pics from 2011.
Here's a couple of late spawning crappie that were still on the bank June 8th at El Dorado Reservoir.
This blue catfish was tagged and stocked in El Dorado in July 2005. It was recaptured June 8, 2011 and still carried the tag from nearly six years earlier. Blues were first introduced to El Dorado in 2004 and tag return info provided by anglers gives a valuable information on these fish.
This is the 'big fish' so far during 2011. Flathead catfish are normally the largest fish seen during the year in the El Dorado District. This one was caught on June 6th at Chase State Fishing Lake and was the smaller of the two we were chasing! And yes, the fish was released so it is there to stretch some lucky angler's line.
This male longear sunfish was in full spawning colors when we found him while sampling black bass. Hard to beat colors like this!
