I finally got to go fishing today. This is the first real fishing trip of the year. I got on the water and realized my trolling motor wasn't working right. It run but only about 25% of the speed. When the wind picked up I had to go to a cove to get out of the wind, but they was working on the sea wall and had the water looking like chocolate milk. I didn't catch a fish in that cove. The water in this lake is christal clear. I could see my jig down about 10-12 ft. I saw most of the Crappie and Walleye hit my offering. Another week and the Crappie should really turn on, on their summer pattern. In one of the coves where I check for spawning crappie the Crappie were gone already and the bluegills were on the beds. They use the same beds as the Crappie do in this cove.
I posted in the Ne. forum with pictures of the fish today. Felt good to be on the water again. It has been a long time since I was able to get out. EB
