    Default Fishing 6-2-11

Finally made it out fishing today. I was suppose to take a couple of guy's fishing but they had to cancel because the one was leaving in the morning for Iraq and some of his family wanted to see him before he left so He only had today to see them so canceled the fishing trip. I decided I was already to go so I went anyway.
I had a pretty good day by myself. I ended up with 8 Crappie, 1 very nice Walleye, 1 cat, and 3 Punkin Seed Bluegills. I caught a lot more than this but this was what was legal for this year. They changed some size limits and added a slot limit to the Walleye. They cut the Crappie limit to 15 this year. The water temp varied around the lake today. Main lake water temp was 71-72 degrees and some of the coves got to 76 degrees. The Walleye came out of 16 ft of water on the bottom with a minnow, The cat came on a minnow too. Everything else came on a 1/16 plain lead head with a red hook, and a Black and White RR Umbrella body. The Crappie didn't want a minnow today. The Spawn is about done here except the males are still guarding the nest. All but one of the Crappie were males today.

The female still had bloody eggs yet, and was in 10 ft of water.

The TT works great but I had a wire break off on the switch on the trolling motor and would only run about 25% wide open. When the wind picked up I had to get off the lake. The electric trailer winch worked great also and makes loading the boat a lot easier now. EB
