I've fished both for many years and can tell you that you have many many lakes that are much better much closer to home. I live 90 minutes from them and now drive twice that distance to make Shelbyville my home lake.

Are those two lakes pretty good crappie lakes?...I live down by St.Louis..But, looking to make a road trip on a crappie trip this fall..

Speaking first hand on delevan it is a good gill lake. especialy when it is smokin hot out late july and august. I know a guy up there who fishes those lakes and he even did an article for in fisherman recently on how to catch gills using spoons like swedish pimple. The fish will be on the big drop offs out from shore and the breaks are easy to find there.
