    Default A Decent Day Out.

Finally got out. Wanted some nice crappie, but got a decent mix instead:

Crappie, perch, and gills. Threw a bunch of small guys back, including some nice pickerel (too bony for me). I went threw 2 dozen minnows and resorted to lures. A nice day for me even though I got burnt to a crisp. Doh My tender hide is not used to the sun with all the rain we've had.
If vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what's baby oil made from?

Looks like a fun day. Looks like you got it all within reach - what a nice setup. How tasty are those yellow perch? I've always heard they are delicious, but they are uncommon down south. I actually caught a few on Kentucky Lake once many years ago, but my buddy kept all the fish on that trip.

Yellow perch are delicious. When you can find a school of them sometimes the fishing can be fast and furious.

kb it looks like you did have a good day. Were you trolling or casting? What style of fishing and what kind of baits do you use? Love to hear your styles.

I started off dropshotting the minnows, and when I ran out of bait I casted and trolled. I really don't have any particular style (just ask my wife), I just try what ever I think might work. This particular day was a really good one for me.

That a nice catch. Gotta love those mixed bag days. Those perch are some mighty fine eating for sure.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D
