SWEET!!!! I got out for a couple hours yesterday and got a nice mess of crappies, but think I'm going to start keeping gills now too -they were all around the boat looking at me - means it's time to catch-n-fillet.

We were fishing 8-20 FOW, most fish were early (before 9AM) in 8-11 FOW.
The water was gin-clear, so we went with black/silver jr thundersticks.

A couple of the browns we got:

Saturday, we landed 5 of 6, one was Atlantic that we released because it was too small, and we had one come unbuttoned right at the back of the boat.

Sunday we only boated 1 of 4. Not sure what was going on with that, we'd fight them all the way from 300 feet out, and when they would get just outside of net range, they come unhooked. Strange! One of the fish that came off on Sunday was a king that would be in the 25 lb range. Took my son-in-law 15 minutes to fight it to the back of the boat, only for it to get off

We cooked up one of them on the fire at the camp site - butter, salt, pepper, and old bay wrapped in a couple layers of foil and tossed right on the coals.

Turned out delicious! A couple will go on the smoker too

Nice! Take this for what its worth..but on the misses, We have found that a single hook is actually better then a Trebble (on spoons anyway)
