There are tons of them in the Ohio River too. I've seen them since the mid 80's
cool picture of a spoonbill (paddlefish) snagged at Alum Creek recently. Central Oh forum, 5 feet long over in Ohio Game Fishing site. Didn't even know they were in there; apparently, they're in Deer Creek too.

we caught one (small one) in a throw net when we was catching shad to catfish with about 2 years ago (Ohio river creeks)....I grabbed it to pitch it back and its mouth opened, I was shocked how big its mouth was, we have caught several small ones in throw nets trying to catch shad since, they are pretty crazy looking....C-MAX is right the Ohio's got a bunch of em...never caught one on rod and reel though.....know a person who accidently snagged one while catfishin, again the Ohio river...
