    Default Cheap, tough, stake-out stick

Hey folks, check out this thread from the Lousiana forum...

    Kman Saved me $3500

I can't be the only person to think, "They re-invented
    the stake-out pole."

I've been planning to make a stake-out pole for my 'yak.
I like this product, but a 3/4" solid rod is way overkill
and is probably too heavy. Not to mention the price is
    crazy expensive.

But then TeamM&M provided this awesome link...

Nylon 101 and Nylatron® GS Rod | U.S. Plastic Corp.

I bet a 3/8" rod from that source would make a perfect
stake-out stick for yaks, canoes, and jons. It would last
forever and you can't beat the price at less than $9 for
    an 8-foot rod.

I may have to try this out.

I just use an old broom/mop handle. I have also used a piece of copper pipe I had laying around. Both worked fine for me.

    EDIT to add:
followed your link, the nylon rod is "Not UV stabilized" so I bet it will break after prolong exposure to sunlight.
