Default SACA Wheeler Open Tournament Results

forecast was for 6 mhp winds. ........Yeah, right :p

At 5:15 am, I arrived at the launch with 10 mph winds and about 7 boats waiting to sign up and launch. WE ended up with 13 teams, and 25 fishermen.

    Results were as follows:

    Waters/Stegall 7.50
    Richardson/Nicholson 6.58
    Vess/Freemen 3.84
    Edwards/Engle 3.83
    Dodd/Ledbetter 2.28
    Echols/Echols 2.27
    Whitehead/Quillen 2.21

    Whitehead/QUillen 2.21 Big Fish

Everyone came to the weigh-in, but only 7 teams weighed fish. It was a tough day. The wind blew about 15-20 with gusts up to 25. Started pretty cold and finally warmed as the sun popped out about 11:00.

The team of Waters/Stegall caught all their fish in First creek, not far from the marina. The team of Richardson/Nicholson caught their fish in Second creek. The whitehead /Quillen team caught their big fish in second creek. A few good fish were caught in the mouth of Elk River by the team of Vess/Freemen.

Thanks to Brad Whitehead, Holt's Radiator and Battery, and a special thanks to Scott Echols. All these folks provided great door prizes for our open tournament. With these folks and our sponsor Milner Rushing, we have had awesone door prize give-aways at every tournament. Herer is a list of door prizes given away at this tournament alone.

Hi-Tek Stuff rod holder $75 value (Scott Echols- www.hitekstuff.com)
$25 Gift Card to Grays Tackle (Holt's Radiator and Battery)
$25 Flush and Fill from Holt's Radiator (Holt's Radiator and Battery)
2 bottles of Original Fish Formula (B Whitehead)
40 paks of Original Fish Formula grubs (B Whitehead)
    Extendable Fishing Net (Milner Rushing)
3 Plano tackle Boxs (B Whitehead)
    Marker Bouys (Milner Rushing)
    Frabil Hat (B Whitehead)
    2 Holt's Radiator hats
    Rubbermaid Ice Chest (Mike Quillen)
    Zip-up pounch bags (Keith Dodd)
Free for everyone, Floating Keychains from Richard Williams, the "Crappie Wizard"

All these things estimated at $225 total

A great day to fish, just not a great fish catching day. Hope to see some of you at our next meeting!

    Thumbs up wheeler tour.

I would like to thank all our sponsors for their support. The door prizes are nice that way everybody walks away with something. Fishing was tough for our team yesterday but David and Pat made it look easy. Good job fellows.
