Oologah has been red hot with the spawn. I've a good friend, retired, that fishes everyday and calls me for daily reports. He hides his catches from others. Yesterday he hit a limit of 10" or better by 8:30 a.m., fished until noon culling out the 10" fish. Oh, the limit on Oologah is 37. He ended the day with a livewell full of 12" to 16" Crappie.

This man strictly fishes a 1/16th oz unpainted jig head with an orange/chartruese tube.
During the spawn, he "corks" them in his words. As the bite slows during the day, he'll adjust the depth of the jig and try again until he finds where they're at. I've fished for Crappie for 43 years and have a little experience at it, but when in the boat with this man, he'll catch 5 fish to my one. I'll chastised him for it and toss in a bit of name calling, (in jest) and he'll laugh it off and tell me he's trying to "teach me" but I just won't learn.

I enjoy my time on the water with this guy very much and appreciate it as well.
