    Talking SMITHVILLE is back

Last night as everyone on the lake was going home, me and my cousin stayed out and caught our limits in a couple of hours most of our fish came on minnows and the big 15 in hogs we caught were caught on xtra large shimmers. Bank fishing we walked back to this cove in the owl creek branch north of the bridge and had a ball most were 10- 12 in and very few under that we probably caught 50 plus fish and had to leave cause we ran out of shiners. Good luck guys.here is the 15 in I caught, my cousin caught the other ones and took them with him. smart move.Name: 2011-05-05_01-53-39_309.jpg

That's a dandy for sure.... nice job and congrats on the day.
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish

Funny, I was thinking a Bud Light would look even better!!!! Those are some nice fish....good job guys!

I met Rodney at the ramp yesterday. He was putting in when we were taking out. We fished through the rain and did pretty good. We were up by Rock Creek toward the back of the cove (Sorry, I don't have none of them fancy red circles like Alex....). The nicer fish we caught were not quite on the bank, I'd say about 10 ft off the bank. We found em on rock banks as well as mud. We were chucking roadrunners at them and they were pretty aggressive.

I cleaned 24 nice ones...I thought about taking a picture of the gut bucket when I finished, but decided that might not be a great idea. About 1/3 were females and the rest were nice size males.

This next week should be awesome. Bring on the traffic cops on the water this weekend. Be courteous to our fellow fishermen, folks. We wouldn't want to be confused with "green carp fishermen"!!!!
I believe in catch and release.....right into the grease!!!!!
