What would you do if you were to catch a crappie that could be a new record??? I would first try to find a certified scale. But wouldn't know where to look. I'd try to keep it alive as long as possible. Take lots of pics and measure length and girth. Probably won't ever come about but one never knowsRofl.

Call your local DNR officer and tell them what you have.Find out how long before they can get to you and ask them what they want you to do.Find the nearest grocery store that has a fresh meat counter and have them way it if they will,then print the weight sticker out.

Well, myself being new to this Crappie fishing, I wouldn't know enough about it, so I'd probably eat it....

Take it to the nearest grocery store and have it weighed and have witness's sign that they watched it being weighed!!!! Keep it alive as long as possible, get fish and game on the phone.

A fish will lose weight on ice...that slime has to come from somewhere. Best to keep it alive as long as possible, and ice it only after it dies.
