Default Just thought of something about this levee deal...

Flood water from the blow is gonna run smooth over Ten Mile Pond Conservation area and Big Oak State Park. I don't know why that didn't register with me before now. They got some good woods down there that I would assume will not be the same. I don't know how many duck hunters we got here, and others who use the area. I don't duck hunt there, but I hate to see the area ruined.

The COE has been misguided for a long time. You cannot control nature. If the rivers had been left primarily to their own whims, certainly there would have been periodic chaos and issues, but on the whole, the floods would have mitigated themselves by spreading out over the flood plains. Hence the term flood plain in the first place.

I would imagine that they don't have much more pull than the farmers. This is a federal deal. They gonna do what they want, even if it hairlips the governor.
