    Default Pomme Report 4-30

Headed to Pomme today to try our hand at some crappie. Didn't have very high expectations with weather, forecast, water level, wind, etc... All I can say is WOW!!!! We had three limits of solid fish before 10:00 this morning. Continued catching and throwing back keepers - three of us had over a hundred keepers!!!

    Water Temp - 56

Structure - Brush piles, in mouths of spawning area, off points of spawning areas.

Depth - 30-40 fow, in the brush.

Jigs - All fish were caught on Shimmer Stix Jigs, blue disco was the top color! If you haven't tried these jigs yet you need to give them a whirl, they are awesome.

Water Clarity - clean, 2-3' of visibility.

Almost every fish caught was a female with a huge belly full of eggs.

    Good luck!

    Brad

Really glad to hear it,the way that lake keeps jumping up and down I keep going to Truman so now I can start fishing closer to home.Did you catch them on the upper or lower end of the lake?Water temp seems to be what Avery is running.Congrats on the catch ,sounds like you had a heck of a day.

Thanks for the report and congrats. If the weather doesn't do anything drastic next Saturday's Crappie Slayers tournament might be very good.

We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish

I googled "Shimmer Stix Jigs". I found nothing. I'm curious as to what they are, what they look like.
