    Default tubes and skirts

    Fellow crappie slayers,

I was wondering what is your favorite type of tube or skirt that you use on your jigs. I usually use a homemade tube and a solid body tube jig. But I really want to expand my arsenal. As soon as I can walk again I plan on starting to use 2" grubs. I also want to start using sliders but not to sure what type of jighead to use with them and if they would work on normal round head or horsehead jig. I plan on going home in April to fish for a week or so and I want to try some new things. Any help would be great.

I have to agree. If I put on a tube that is the first color.

the only brand of jig bodies I use is the solid body 2" bailey magnet. These bodies last longer than hollow tubes and they come in killer colors. Seem to catch the biggest fish in the lake as well, LOL. I have recently bought some Lindy techni-glo thumpin grub from cabelas. And also have bought dang near every style and color of those storm swimmin minnows. Hope to have a report from those two types real soon. - rascal

Dave check this site for info about what the slider jig head looks like. http://www.crappielures.com/sliders.htm

I sure enjoy using the two inch sliders during the spawn. I haven't used the one inch sliders yet.

I like southern pro tubes for their selection of colors. I use sliders alot and use them on different types of jigs. Most of the time I just rig em on a 1/16 or 1/32 ounce jig. use the slider jigs in dense cover. Hope this helps. CF
