    Default Jig Hooks?

What style of jig hooks do you prefer? Sickle or the standard hooks?

Sickle and won't go back.more hookups and most are deep in roof. Of mouth. Use straight shank for minnows and pour my own jigs with them.

Both!!!! Been pouring way to long to ignore the old style hooks. I like the sickles but as far as I'm concerned they suck in woody areas, are great in grassy and open areas or rock rip rap.

Regular bend works great in woody areas. This is my opinion and you're welcome to disagree with it. Until recently the QC on the sickles wasn't all that great but has gotten better.

I'm sticking with the good ol reliable regular hooks. It seems for me that I walleye fish as much as crappie and at the same time, alot. I just loose to many wallys with the sickles, especially when they throw their tail over the line, which pops them sickles about 75% of the time. I think it's the heavier wire/penetration thing. Might try em again if Gamakastsu starts making them. But IMO and experience I gonna pass on them.

Standard #2 Gamakatsu.. the proof is in the Puddin.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

for those of you who use sickle, does anyone use them for gills. Just wondering if the hook gap size is too big for their mouths.
