    Default Adding starter to outboard

I have a 15 horse evinrude. The rope broke this evening Luckily I had enough light to repair it. IM sure its time to upgrade to a elec starter. Any suggestions on where to order a starter?
    Thanks

There's more to it than just adding a starter. Tell us your model number. If you're lucky, someone may have a kit they can sell you. I know I have a '69 Evinrude 18 that I'd sell the electric start.

The model is E15CRW Its a 1984. I didnt if I could bolt on a electric starter or not. What else is needed? If some one has a starter and the other i'd pay.

ishopmarine.com lists the electric start kit for your motor for over $500. MSRP is $600.00.

If I were in your shoes, I'd call around to some marine mechanics and locate a used kit.

    Amen to electric start.
My 40hp yamaha is pull start and every year I wish more for electric start. I am old enough to start looking for the parts to go electric. I can charge the battery with a charger but sometimes early in the morning my bones just don't want to pull start it like I did years ago. I figure a starter and solenoid with a push button should git-r-done.
