    Default Reelfoot question.

Headed there Thursday (4/21) with the old man. We have duck hunted at Reelfoot before but never fished. We are staying at Eagles Nest. Any advice would be most appreciated. I would really like for him to have a great experience.

    34,

Depending on the wind...which has been a killer lately, you can catch a few out in Moultrie Field. If the wind is an issue, I would fish in Kirby Pocket area (Simon, Buzzard, Snaggy, Allen's) fishing the trees and pads. If ya need some more info give me shout on my email off my website.

    Good Luck,

I just came back, was down the 15th thru 18th. Saw some powerful storms blow through and saw the fish shut down. We stayed at the Eaglenest also. Very nice people. We've stayed there the five years we've made our annual trek. With the weather patterns being what they have, you may want to look at Green Island or Cypress Point. It's a little bit of a run but the crappie may still be coming back out of the deep water that the fronts pushed them into last week. Green Island and Cypress point are to the north almost straight across from the Blue Bank Resort. As mentioned in the other reply, Kirbys Pocket may also produce if there has been a couple days of stable, warm weather.

I hope the weather cooperates for your dads sake (and yours). Reelfoot is a beautiful place to see but it's a lot more beautiful with a cooler full of slabs to clean!
My worst day of fishin' is still better than my best day at work!
