    Default Jon Boat Project finished....Need calm waters.......pics


    Wrapped it up today except (chrome edge trim). Will head to lake this Thursday to see if it still floats....Got lots of condos to sink....Here is a birds eye view from the cockpit...

    i also have been remodeling a old jon boat....i started out with a old wreck and after much work,money.sweat,cussing and time i have a much better wreck....he he he

    Default You messed up!!!

    I did the same thing to my old 1236 jon and lett me tell you. I made the deck 4"
    larger on all three sides that stick out. And it saved me from getting swamped so many times its not funny. I them siliconed it to seal it to the boat. It makes the deck nice and big but most importantly it diverts the wakes and waves from comming in if you hit them with the front. Sorry, I dont think I have pics here and the boat is in storage about 500 miles away. I used alum angle (about 3-4
    ") and made brackets that support a large flat plate of alum.
