Hands down I love Marabou as it makes your bait to appear it's breathing. Good post...
Which do you prefer on your jigs? Why?

Marabou hands down. Bucktail is to stiff and I dont think gives much action to the jig. Try some kip tail or also know as calf tail works really good, but nothing beats marabou. Add a few strands of flashabou or krystal flash for something extra, to the tail.

I prefer PLASTIC! More realistic and they hold scent.Originally Posted by lee s.
I like plastic also. Seems like I catch alot more fish these days on it. Easier to change color combinations.

I've never been a big fan of maribou myself. I like the slow fishing characteristics of a small well tied bucktail myself better than maribou.
Good things come to those who bait.
I like Bucktail jigs they do give a slower presentation, but some of the plastics there coming out with now is pretty nice too
I dont mind fishin in the RAIN!!! My boat LEAKS anyways!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had great success with those.
Personally, I prefer bucktail. However, plastic jigs are close by. A couple of week ago I couldn't buy a bite on plastics. Last weekend plastics were the ticket. Sometimes for me, the challenge of crappie fishing is almost overwhelming.
Maribou works better in colder water. Plastics lose there action in colder water. Maribou is better in water below 50 degrees.
