Looks like you had a great time. About this vert jigging. What size jig head did you use? Also how much do you move the jig up and down? This is what happens to me when I go crappie fishing around home, I can't keep my hands off my Muskie rod.
Wiskers had mercy on my soul and showed me how to properly vertical jig. We caught 10 very nice crappie and lost a couple at the boat. Wiskers, thank you very much!

Way to go Rich!!! Hands ClappingDid Whiskers teach you how to talk to those fish when you catch'em?
The only way to have a good fishing spot is to make it yourself!
I use whatever size the situation calls for. A general rule of thumb for me is the deeper I jig the heavier jig I use. Wind also determines what size I choose. Gotta keep in contact with the jig. Deeeeep jig'n (18' or more) I'll usually go 1/4 oz. 18' up to 14' 1/8. 14' to 10' I like 3/32 but have used 1/16 if no wind. 10' & up I use 3/32 or 1/16 depending on the fish. I don't move my jig much. Just a twitch every now & then. I also like to raise it up about 3' & drop it slowly on a tight line.

great job guys!!! maybe one of these years i'll get it figured out....lol
Thanks for the info Wiskers. Ky lake is different than what we fish around here shallow banks and not much cover around banks. Here we have deep bank with blow downs. I see why you all put out so much structure. Here after a storm there is always new cover. I like Ky lake but you have to learn how to fish it.
I love to vertical jig fish and is also a favorite fishing technique of my wifes. We vertical fish more than any other technique even though I know lots of times we may catch more fish using other methods.
Nice ones!!
