    Default 4/9/11 Tidewater Crappies

Late report , but better late than never....:D

Hit the CT River for some crappie this past Saturday , an outgoing tide with the wind against it and some murky water made it a little tough to starting out .
Couldn't buy a decent fish at our favorite spot , couple of dinks and that was it .

Went prospecting and found a fish here and there , nothing spectacular .
Once the tide changed to incoming we thought we'd try the honey hole again and see if the tide change and some clearer water might have made a difference .

Clearer water and the wind now being with the tide got the fish biting !
Still had to work through a lot of dink crappie and yellow perch to get some decent ones , threw back a lot at about this size...

Got one 14" perch and managed a 1/2 bucket full of these...

My buddy got a surprise from a small Northern , small but still a great fight on an ultralight...

Overall we must have pulled in 80 fish , went through 4 dozen shiners .
No giants but a lot of fun , got to watch a pair of ospreys building a nest , got buzzed by a couple immature Bald Eagles , the turkeys were gobbling up a storm in the woods , always nice to get out ! Thumbs Up

Great to see that you found them. Must be a bit diff. working the tides. Don't have any of them on Lake MI.
