Hey all, this here's my first thread. Howdy to all!!!
I never really went crappie fishing at night. Sure, just before sun-up, and during twilight, but once it got fully dark, we usually towed it in and headed for home (or other activitiesHands Clapping). Anyhoo, last weekend, my brother and I started getting hits around twilight (8p. or so), and then we were really on 'em for about two hours non-stop. It was like a fishing show. All of these crappie were 10 to twelve inches, nice & thick, and at one point, I caught one fish on seven consecutive casts. I had to get the lantern out, but I was glad to do so. We were using minnow on a small crappie hook with one quarter oz. split shot & a bobber at about three feet, in 4 to 5 feet of water. There was rip-rap on the shore, with a mostly submerged brush pile very nearby. This activity went on until about 10:15p, when they simply shut-off. Lots of fun crappie fishing at night.
I was just curious if anyone else had some nighttime crappie fishin' stories to tell...
Congrats.

Thanks for the link. Interesting thing is that we had no light on the water for this process - the lantern was set up behind us to help us see the bobbers.
Awesome story, congrats.
