Well I managed to get out fishing yesterday for the first time this year. I had along an inexperienced kayak angler, but he was great as a passenger in my kayak and is welcome anytime. This initial trip of the year was basically just a scouting trip on a small public I had never fished before. As per my usual, I have no electronic, and for this particular lake I did not even have a map, I just went on some good old fashion know how, and a little bit of gut feeling.
Our lines were actually in the water for about a total of 1 hour as we had to fight some serious wind and work out those first trip of the year kinds.
I was able to find a few fish, which just put the icing on a great little trip.
We only landed 3 fish but had quite a few baits and a couple hook ups that came off. All in all it was a great day and the scouting convinced me that I will go back to that lake.

It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D
