Hello, If you are at Wal Mart in Marion take 221 north for about a quarter of a mile. Turn right at red light onto Hankins road. Go to end of Hankins road stop sign, turn left onto Lake James Road, follow this until you see wildlife access area signs on right. Turn right and ramps are at end of road. Good luck.

where is a bait shop around James? I'll be coming from north of Morganton area. I need a place to get some minnows this wkend.

Hey Fishking if you are going to put in at Blackbear there is a bait shop on the right where you hit Hankins road, just off the marion bypass. A convenience store on right and they sell nightcrawlers and minnows. Good luck
