Default Help a Nubee to Crappie fishin...

I understand there is a few lakes around here (N. W. Montana) that have crappie in them. Being new to "Crappie" fishing (I never have tried it let alone here in Montana). My question... What is the best publication for me to read to get started fishing for "Crappie" fishing. It is almost "ice out" here on most lakes and I would really like to be serious about fishing for them.

    Any help? Please!!

    Thanks all...

This site is loaded with good info, but check your state regs on legal methods. Lots of guys here troll with multiple poles, and that's not allowed in every state.

In-Fisherman has a good crappie book and some DVD's you could check out.

Check with your local agency's for information on certain lakes. They would be your best source for what is in your local lakes and what it takes to catch them. EB

I would have to say this site is by far the most well rounded crappie fishing information center that you will ever find. Most of the folks around here are just regular ole everyday anglers and like to share their knowledge and love for crappie fishing. I, for one, know that I am a serious crappieholic and there is no where I would look first for crappie fishing information then right here. Ask around, I wouldn't be surprised if you found all, or at least most, of the answers to any questions right here on crappie.com
