    Default Kentucky Lake Today

The fish were biting decent today. We managed to box 40 nice keepers with the big fish weighing 1.75. Nice fish, but we did not have the other six. We only averaged 1.1lbs on twenty, and 15.5lbs on the other twenty. We only fished with jigs with the colors varying from purple/glow, orange/glow red/chart. The big fish came from 3 foot water with a surface temp. of 57.3 degrees. With the weather warming more everyday the spawn is only a week or two away unless mother nature throws us a curve, which usually happens this time of year. Good fishing!

    Default Welcome to the board!

    Hey Fatdaddy,
What area of Kentucky lake were you fishing? I would like to go this weekend if the rain will hold out long enough, but was wondering if the recent shad kill still had the fishing messed up in the Big Sandy area.
    Thanks for the report.

The shad are about gone which means the fish are full. I'm still getting good reports of big catches. The fish seem to be running smaller this year with only one, two, or no fatdaddys per outing with 2 limits of 10in to pound fish.
    Good fishing
