    Default Guntersville Shellcracker

thought i'd hit this here instead of the crappie side.

i'm trying to keep an eye out for the shellcracker bite on the guntersville end of the river so i can plan for the wilson side. i know the water temps been bouncin and the last front probably pushed more than the crappie and shellies back but just wanted to ask if anyone has heard anything about the spawning bite yet.
i know i'm probably early, but the next full moon is coming up april 17th..ish. and the water temp was getting close to 60.
2questions actually............. what water temp or variable of events to ya'll look for for the shellcracker spawn? first full moon after the water temp reaches 62 or so?

    thanx all!

I caught a lot of Gills and crackers last week but they were not on bed. They had their darker colors coming on good but were not bedding. I cleaned over 100 and none of them had eggs. I do not think they will be really spawning in most areas until May.

I too have been catching a lot of them over the past month at Guntersville, but they don't appear to be on bed yet either for me.
