I am kinda new to the trolling cranks thing. But a few weeks ago I went out and played around pulling cranks. I varied my speeds from 1.1-1.8 mph. It must have been what the wanted we did pretty good.

    Smile Cranking Speed

The most productive speed for N Miss lakes is 1.7-1.8mph pulling Bandits.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to put a trolling plate on my outboard. The slowest speed I can get right now according to my gps is 3 mph.

You can put a wind sock out and this will slow you down. I use a my minn kota auto pilot or the outboard with a wind sock. I troll bandits 1.6 to 2.2 mph. You need to be able to adjust your speed.

Use your trolling motor. It's alot quieter. Catch more. Interesting what people in the other boats say about you while you are catching and they aren't.

I perfer the pearl with redeyes or Tennesse shad. But if the water is stained try a clown color or a firetiger crank.
