Better check state reg as to how many hooks ya put on one line cause the fine in some states can sting. And if you want some pre rigged BPS does carry them.

i guese you put the weight apr. 18" below your hook? i ordered four 16' rods from monks, should be in this week. i have everthing else. never spider rigged before, sorry for all the questions.

If you don't want to tie your own,,which is very easy,,go to walmart, and buy 2 hook set for buck and change each.

My advice to newbies would be to go with a single minnow for a while.

I rarely fish 2 hooks, because it seems the fish always bites the bottom hook and spider rigging with a few rods (I only use 4 at a time) goes through a LOT of minnows...using 2 hooks wouldn't double that total but would definitely increase it substantially without appreciably increasing your catch.

X2 on this. Buy you a pac of small barrel swivels, 1/2 oz sliding weights and plastic beads. Slide weight on line followed by bead then tie on a swivel. Tie a 8in leader to swivel and tie on hook of choice. I prefer #1 or 1/0 hook in abberden style tho a lot of folks prefer #2 just personal preferance. Try tis to get started then you can add another hook if you want as you progress. You can also substitute a jig in place of hook and tip with minnow if prefered.Hope this helps and you catch a lot of fish.

I tie my own using 10lb test mono, eagle claw 214EL light wire hooks and 1/2 or 3/4 oz. egg sinkers. On my front four rods I run 2 hooks, but on the outer four rods only one to save on minnows. I too have found that the front rods for me seem to catch the most fish, and usually always on the bottom hook. On all of the rigs I now use two swivels, one above the weight and one below the weight to prevent line twist due to the line being wrapped several times through the egg sinker to secure it in place. The best thing I have done the last few trips was replace some of my mono with fireline braid, 14 lb. test. Now when I get hung up it is much easier to pull the rigs loose without breaking off. I should have done this four years ago when I first started spider rigging.
