Default We own four boats between us so we .......

went tubing. A fun way to fish, especially in the spring.

It's been a while since I did this so a couple of things remembered too late for this trip.

    1. Neopreen waders must shrink between trips.
    2. a long pole is not ideal. Next time I will take a 7' rod.

We caught a few fish and had a good time.
    Good fishing.

That spot looks like a perfect place for tubin. I had a little 2 man boat for such places that I use to fish. EB

Yes, it is. I do it year-round. I like the U or V-shaped tubes, though -- much easier to get in and out of.

No, it's not. Nine feet is about my maximum, and that's when I'm fly fishing. Shorter rods are definitely easier to handle out of the tube.

I think that would be lots of fun to do. I would like to see someone doing that here on reelfoot. I have never done that but I have waded alot of moss, mocassion, and plum nasty filled ditches turtle hunting. Done that for 5 years and now there is no thought what so ever to doing it again. Made good money off the turtles though. One question is do you move your legs to swim around or do you have some sorta paddle or somthing? If you can not touch the bottom I know you have to do somthing, just curious of how.

In small areas I just kind of bicycle my feet a little to move. For more travel I use flippers like a skin diver. Just a slow waving of the feet will move you. A very comfortable way to fish. And yes we do have snakes here but they seem to avoid you. (I try not to think about them)
    Good fishing.

I did not think of using flippers. I bet that is fun to do. I believe I might try that some day. Thanks for the post.
