Piece of junk. I have known several people that have bought this knife. They get hot real fast and don't perform well at all. I would take it back if I were you.
I just recieved a Rapala AC/DC fillet knife and need to know your opinion and experiences with this knife. I have traditionally used Mister Twister and liked it. I have about 20 days to return it and unfortunately I won't be able to put it to the test before that time.
All constructive critique is very welcomed.

Search the forum. I think this has been discussed quite a bit before.
"They bitin' up river on that topwater"
I bought one for my dad & he loves it, & he cleans 20-30 fish at a time. Another friend of mine has one and brags about it also. Ive never heard they were junk i sure hope not..
I have one, it's nice as long as you charge the batteries. The blades are a bit sharp out of the box to clean scaleless fish like catfish and Spanish mackerel.
i have one and use it on 12 volt all the time and love it. never has it gotten hot like one said above. not a bit of trouble and it's 4 years old.
Must agree....Slow, gets hot, tried to clean 40+ crappie several times last year and it got so hot i could hardly hold it. Bought a Mr.Twister and have no problems. Buddy of mine has a American Angler and likes it as well.

I have the reg. plug in model and it does a good job and fits my hand better than others. If you clean a lot of fish with it gets so hot you can't hold it. I don't know if the ac/dc model will do the same?
have to say I bought one last summer and used it once for 7 fish; it got very hot. i plugged it in last week, hit the button, and it sparked real bad and is dead. fortunately, i bought product replacement and Dick's Sporting Goods immediately sent me my money back. I won't be buying another Rapala model. My dad and I used the same American Angler for 10 years and have never had one issue.
no matter what I'm doing, I've got hunting or fishing on my mind...
3 to 4 right now.
