Green underwater light, two anchors (one for each end of the boat), head mounted flash light, clamp on 12 volt shop light, and thermacell if warm enough. Add minnows and rods and you are good to go. I like to let the fish come to me at night.
If I were to go out in boat for some night fishing what would I need to take along? I have never been out in boat at night and thought about tryin it? I am wondering what I need for fishing at night, not what I need to run in dark with boat. I got 2 lanterns and flashlights. Is there anything else I would find that I need while night fishing? Thanks

I read the night fishing 101 and saw you can use submerged lights and hanging lights but what about floating lights?I have had some laying around for years but never took them out.Not sure why just never packed them when I went.Anybody use them?
I use the floaters for stripe fishing. The old one's with the GE bulbs are MUCH better than the new ones. They are brighter, and better quality. Many seem to prefer the submerged lights, but I haven't used them much.
I prefer to use the florescent blacklights and florescent fishing line. The blacklight literally makes the line glow blue in the dark. Also, take plenty of batteries for your flashlights, spotlight, fishing lights, etc.
A pair of clear safety glasses or googles will be much appreciated when running thru swarms of bugs at night. Believe me, I know!

Thanks, the ones I have are pretty old I'm sure. Will they drain your battery pretty quick?
Check your state boating regulations. Most states require lights on your boat at night for navigation.
Don't worry, catch crappie.
i'VE USED ABOUT EVERY UNDERWATER LIGHT KNOWN TO MAN, EXCEPT THE REAL
EXPENSIVE ONES, AND PREFER THE GREEN SUBMERGABLE ONES AT B.P.
THE LONGEST ONE WORKS BEST FOR ME, BUT ITS JUST A PERSONAL
PREFERENCE, BUT I DO THINK THE SUBMERGABLE LIGHTS ARE BETTER.
