    Default My New Fishing Machine

A couple pictures of my new fishing machine. It is a Carolina Skiff J16 with a Honda 25HP 4 stroke. I have been able to easily get on plane with 3 adults(about 570lbs). It is a stick steer (my first) and I love it. I GPS checked the speed today in the Crystal River FL with a strong head wind and very choppy waters. I was able to get 28.7mph without being able to trim up because of the chop. Very nice running. We have already caught lots of fish (not crappie), spanish machrele, sea trout, lady fish, catfish, redfish. We will be towing the J16 back to PA from Fl for fishing in the rivers and lakes. Not sure yet what mods I might make for fishing.

Nice rig! You'll need some sort of co/ I pilot trolling motor and some rod holders.

Awesome rig. I see tons of em down here. Curious though, did ya buy it new and drive here because of pricing or was it just happenstance while you were here? One piece of advise though, reseal all the penetrations in the deck with 5200. Nothing against the boats I would love to have one just a piece of security for ya.

I love your boat. I rigged up my first front steer boat this year and as far as I'm concerned it's the only way to go for me.
