    Default slip bobber slips down

im having a problem with the string that is supposed to keep my slip bobber from sliding down. everytime i catch a fish the string slides down, and occasionally it just slides down on its own. is there anything to do to keep this from happening? i would tie my own knot but i dont have any small string that is brightly colored and i like to see when my bobber is against the string.

Take a look at the Dental Floss Knot for slip bobbers on this thread This is an easy knot you can tie yourself and works great. Just a suggestion.

If your not fishing too deep, you could use rubber bands. You can even get the colored bands, cut them and tie them to the line the depth your fishing. Works real well.

The small strip of rubber with the holes in it works great.

If you're using the store bought string stops....you have to make sure to cinch them down tight and cut the tag ends,...my problem is I sometimes get them too tight and they don't want to slide real good....should not have a problem getting them tight when the tag ends are still long.

I tie my own with Hi Vis yellow mono. I you need to see you knot, or make sure your float is getting to your desired depth, use a good sized bright colored bead, you will be able to tell with the bead if you are hitting your knot. The rubber stops are good, as long as your not fishing deep, I have trouble getting them to slide through the eyes of the rod.

Use a High visibility line that contrasts the color of your fishing line. I never had much luck with the pre-tied knots and mono is alot cheaper.
