    Default Wind sock?

Can someone tell me how to rig up a wind sock? I have never used one and just bought one at academy. I am fishing out of an aluminum 1860 G3 if thats helps? I am wanting it out the back of boat but not sure how far out it needs to be and where to put a float on it? Thanks!

You want to get it it far enough out from the back so it does not get tangled in the motor and centered is best. You can buy the tether line with the floats already on them.

..... or just use floating rope to attach the drift sock to the boat.

would 2 out the back off of the 2 back cleats be as good as 1 out the back centered, or does that make it too hard to pivot?

I'm not sure about it being ski rope. I just went down the isle in Home Depot with all the ropes and found one that was a floating type. My main reason for getting it was thinking that if some how the rope detached from the boat I would be able to retrieve it all.

I bought a dock rope at wally world, and a spring loaded large hook, and it works fine. 15 ft rope, I think.

Dollar store noodles. If you have a boat go to the dollar stores or Wally World & get some swim noodles. You can cut them up and slide them on the tie ropes. Tie harnesses , etc. Best item they ever made for the fishermen.
