    Default Florida Crappie Club 5th tournament of 2011


    Held March 19th, Lake Manatee
    Hwy 64, Bradenton, Fl.

    Eleven (11) teams participated

    6 teams Semi-pro, 5 teams Amateur

    One place paid for "Big Fish" ea. div.

    1st: Pro Div: Futch/Cesario 1 lb 7.7 oz

    1st: Amateur Div Benjamin/Harwood
    l lb. 2.9 oz

    Two Positions paid for "7 fish total
    catch weight", Semi-pro division

    1st Futch & Cesario 7 lbs 1.0 oz
    1nd Devoe & Scranton 6 lbs 15.5 oz

    Winners pro div were fishing with Wally
    Marshall rods, long-lining with Charlie Brewer
    Slider Jigs. Black/blue tail & Black/silver metal flake


    Four positions paid for "7 fish total catch weight" Amateur Div.

    1st: Benjamin/Harwood 7 lbs. 6.5 oz
    2nd: Williams/Roberts 6 lbs. 2.5 oz
    3rd: Terri & Roger Riley 5 lbs. 0.0 oz
    4th: Ed & bob Kovac 4 lbs. 8.5 oz

    Winners in Amateur div were fishing with Shimano/Daiwa
    rod & reels, casting 16th oz gold beetle spins with green jigs
    & pulling minnows on bobbers
    working water 2-4' deep in am, later in day moving
    to drifting deeper water

    Note: Due to Lake Manatee, motor restrictions, a two division
    tournament was put in place.

    Next tournament will be Lake Monroe, City ramp off
    I-4 April 9th

    Hands ClappingRoflthis was a good time fishing on my home lake .. it was good to see that there is really people out there that knows how to fish this lake besides me ... to those that read this and fish in this hope to see you all back on the lake when i am there dont be strangers ... and good fishing to all ....

    glad you had good time Benjamin.............i loved the atmosphere of everyone having
    a good time, sharing thoughts on how they fished the lake..... it was amazing as to the
    amount of different style boats there. Gheenoe was the boat of choice haveing 5 out
    of 11 boats....Jon - semi v - bass - pontoon - saltwater flats style etc.

    Presentations: - jigging - long-lining- drifting - spider rigging - anchored, vertical fishing - bobber & use of eetle spinners on cast, a few even polled up into heavy
    vegitation grass, made holes and dropped baits in....

    yes this lake is one of the best in manattee county . i have been fishing this lake for over 30 yrs and it took along time to know it and fish all the ways i could just to see what did the best at what time of yr .. it was time spent doing what was the best thing i do the most and that is fish .. i would fish in a mud pudle when i was really young like 4or5 and my dad would put minnows in it so i was looking at the fish .. you know i never hooked any of them but it was fun at the time ..lol.. but my dad past 2 yrs ago and after the ternament saterday while i was near the lake i said to my dad look at me now dad .. after his death i spread his ashes in the lake at one of the best spots in the lake i know and that is where i fished on saterday .. i give this win to my dad ... .. i would love to meet up on the lake anytime your out there i know u know what my bout looks like so just flag me down if u ever see me ...
