    Default trolling below the dam

I know this is more for crappie but I will be spooning here shortly and thought my kid would like to trolling for bass while I do that. He is only 5 and not quite big enough for the spoons just yet. lol. I have not really ever done in below the dam as was wondering if anyone has any recommnedations for jigs. Dont do hardly any bass fishing so I will not of course have one but will go and buy some for him. Any help is appriciated

I would try some blue & silver or black & silver 1/4 oz. rattle traps and 6-8 lb line. Let out about 50 ft. of line. Troll about 1 mph. Just watch out for brush.
I just KNOW it was a big one!!!

I see a lot of guys on the James River trolling shad raps for whites. The funny thing is they tend to snag a lot of spoonbill while trolling them as well.
