Default 2011 Season Opener at LOZ

Kicked off the season with an afternoon on the Gr Glaize, great day to be out, slight wind here and there, temp not bad, and caught a few crappie to boot. I think we brought home 8. Caught them over brush in 18-20 fow, right on the bottom. No shorts, I think we kept every one that we caught, lost a couple also. All caught on pumkinseed/chartruese (I stole this combo from the Stockton guys, but I think they call it root beer/chartruese). Tried electric chicken, nope; tried black over chartruese, none. We were out about 3 1/2 hours or so, loved being on the water again. Spent a lot of time trying to learn the new Humminbird SI and DI units that we got....... holy smokes, those things are awesome...... I have a lot of questions and a lot more to learn, but I love these things. Here is a pic of junior with our 2 biggest fish.

    Good fishing all!

We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish

Was in that area on Saturday fishing a tourney. Got a tip from an LOZ legend Had a nice 12"er on a bass jig. Warmest water we found so you should have them on the banks before long.
