I fish out of Osage Bluff too, but I do not target whites generally. I catch plenty when I am Crappie and Walleye fishing. Anytime they are running water can be good. Out around KK Island and the flodded town of Fairfield are good as is Turpin Branch and the dam area. A lot of the guys that target them run up the Big Pomme arm. I have caught most of mine trolling cranks.

July and August seem to be the best months. The whites and Hybrids really work on the shad then. We like to fish from like 5pm until dark. Like the Capt said KK island and the weir in front of the dam are good places. Use good tackle, the Wipers (hybrids) can sure tear up equipment.

I like June fishing the best for hybrids. once they move mainlake and prior to everyone finding them. I will fish from G10 to KK. My old GPS gave out last year and it will be fun re-finding all those subtle pieces of structure I had on it. High clear water in June with them dumping can be the best combo there is for trolling. Big sassy shad on a big RR head with a 5/o stainless hook is my go to bait. I fish any color as long as it is chart. 1.9 to 2.2 mph is my starting point when trolling that keeps my baits in about 11ft of water and I target structure that comes from deep water to about 16ft. There is something about that 16ft structure they like if you can find it close to a deeper spot or heavy current there will be fish there. I always have a rod rigged with a full sized spook and have phenominal topwater action in the middle of the day when it was 90 degrees and sunny. One thing I have learned targeting whites and hybrids on Truman is if the wind is anywhere close to out of the North stay home or drift for cats. Not saying you cannot catch them but I have little luck on those winds.
