The baitcasters don't twist the line as badly, or at all, in comparison to a spinner. Even pulling drag, rolls off, rolls on. Keep the drags set loose, and replace the drag washers if they're sticky or just not smooth. Those are good reels, work real good with braid deep jigging in the cold months also.

Just Do It.Thumbs Up Those Shimanos will work great. I use Pinnacle vs10s and vst 100s on all of my trolling (spiderig) and jigging poles. I know without a doubt that i will never lose a fish because of reel faliure! Oh and what Skeet said too.

    Thumbs up Perfect

If you're gonna use them for spider rig'n or troll'n they're perfect! On a jig'n rod that you're gonna be hold'n all day... They get a little heavy. All my spider rig'n rods have baitcasters on'um.

Baitcasters work great for spider rigging. I have been doing it for years.
