Spring crappie will be good to you as a shore-angler, bays on Oneida will have crappie in shallow to spawn and you can get them from shore by using either a small tube jig or a fathead minnow under a bobber.

The Phoenix lock is easy to get to... North on Rte 57 turn left at the light in Phoenix (Nice-n-easy on the corner) and turn right into the parking lot by the drawbridge.

Other places in the area... There is a lock in B'ville. There are a couple DEC access areas along the Seneca river: Bonta Bridge (south of Meridian), North of Port Byron along Rte 38, and just outside the Montezuma refuge.

Hit the DEC website for more ideas on where to fish in the area Places to Fish - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation

    Good Luck!!!
