Going to Lake O' Pines today! 03.02.06

Going to the Pines today in an attempt to slay the slabs...have not been in a while. In mid Feb caught a limit on 3 occasions 12-16". Will report, hopefully after cleaning the fish.

Was on the lake at day break, what a beautiful morning it was! Was off the lake at 11:00am with a LIMIT of very nice SLABS. Some 14-16" 2 lbs the rest 10-12, only threw back 5 non-keepers (used medium shiners). When cleaned, alot of females, full of eggs. Guess you want to know where huh! Well I am one to spread the wealth. 20' of water in the flats is where I caught them. At 11 is when the wind kicked up and had a hard time keeping my drift pattern. I am no expert, but figure they are in the transition stage. Pictures when I get them. No spawn yet.

Seems like the same story on every Lake in Texas. LOP should be HOT for the CAST Tournament.

410MAN, between Johnson Creek and Dam....my usual fishing is in the deep water by the dam but here latley just 20 foot of water in a drift pattern. I limited out 3 times in Feb. I will post pictures when they are sent to me from a friend who has a digital camera...waiting on him!

Thanks for the report. It's been been an off year for me on LOP so I guess I'm gonna spend this next weekend over there and see what happens. The fish have been suspended in the channels on Toledo and just won't bite this past weekend. Thanks again, Don

Smack I have not brrn to pines lately i hear fish in 3 to 4 ft, ya'll come to Pittsburg fdor you trip? Had some pitts links last night 3 beers and alka seltzer was great if i hear any more will let ya know
