    Angry Scratching my head

I fished in the same cove with a buddy of mine saturday. We were in seperate boats since we both had our young sons with us. I watched my buddy and his son pull in several fish and finally ask him to give me a few of the jigs he was using. He nicely shared with us,
and though Im quite sure our techniques were identical all the way down to trolling speed my luck didnt change as we watched them boat over 30 fish to our 5..We did troll over the same areas as well since we were basically trolling in a big circle. Thoughts???

Were you using the # line? Were your jigs tied tight or in a loop knot? Little things sometimes make big differences

Could be several things? Just be glad you were not in same boat and him catching! Could be speed, line size or type of line which will determine depth.

Not knowing what depth of water you guys were fishing, I'd guess he had less line off his reels keeping his jigs shallower. Lately, even in 15' of water I've been marking fish 10' to the bottom but catching ALOT more fish if my jigs run 5'-6' deep, and that's accomplished by casting them out closer to the boat.

Hey rocket, The best person to ask is your buddy. Something was different, technique, jighead weight or style, line size, presentation, SOMETHING. Ask him. Y'all then can compare notes on the things I mentioned. IF he truly is a buddy he will help you out. Good luck fishing.

Without knowing all the information I would need to really know why he outfished you...I would make an educated guess that it had everything to do with DEPTH !
