Mount help for Lowrnce HDS 8

I had heard that the large ram mounts would slip with the large depthfinders. Any other suggestions of a mount to use?

2 1/4 in ram mount will hold and some people are having scott (owner of hitek rod holders)make them one,heres a link of what some people are doing ,look at the 3rd post

I used the Ram mount 2 1/4 inch, see link below and it has never slipped. Its at the bow too on my crappie boat.

I have a HDS7 with the 2 1/4 ram mount and have never had a problem....and a few times it has taken a beating

I have a 997 on a 2.25" Ram. Doesn't slip at all. The 2.25" RAM will handle even the 1197 and HDS10s with ease.
